註釋A social worker's struggles in a Maximum Security penitentiary housing some of Canada's most violent offenders. The inmates under his caseload are involved with drug smuggling and a fatal overdose, several inmate murders, one of which is carried out by a professional assassin under contract to a drug cartel, two escape attempts, a riot, hostage taking, a fellow staff member involved in a fraud scheme, and several assaults on staff, one of which is on him.


Len Frank Meier with a M.A in Sociology and a B.A Honours in Sociology has 35 years experience with Canada's federal civil service, half of which were in corrections, parole, and addictions. He also served as a District Chairman of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police and Federal Corrections. As well, he has taught degree-credited courses at several universities, some were televised to community colleges. He taught in the areas of criminology, sociology and human justice. This is his first novel.

The book is a real page-turner. I could not put it down. Had no idea what really goes on in our prisons.Changes need to take place by those in charge. - Larry S
