The Indictment
註釋A beautiful young woman has just been found dead on the outskirts of Boston. The last person to see her alive was Dr. Christopher Dillard, a wealthy and prominent surgeon, but the police soon discover that Dr. Dillard has no alibi for the time of the murder. Boston's District Attorney Neil Harrington, who is running a Senatorial campaign, sees the Dillard case as an opportunity to take an anti-crime stance that will attract publicity for his own political advancement. When Harrington calls a grand jury to indict the surgeon, Dr. Dillard goes to Dan Sheridan, an ex-cop turned defense-attorney, for help. Sheridan is skeptical but decides to take on Dr. Dillard as a client. The Indictment unfolds with unexpected repercussions, and Sheridan finds himself caught in the web of Harrington's political struggle - a pawn in a system that pits professional advancement against personal justice.
