註釋After a brief history of panorama buildings and a description of the Colosseum in Regent's Park [executed by Decimus Burton for Thomas Hornor in 1828], Hittorff goes on to describe his own Rotonde des Panoramas, Champs Elysees, Paris [built in 1838]. He gives a detailed description of his innovative design for the suspended roof and of the changes to its design that were enforced by the building authorities.
