High Precision Profiling with a Rubidium Mangetometer Pair
註釋Reliable mapping of quasi-static total magnetic field changes to 0.1 gamma between stations separated by 1/2 km can be accomplished by use of a special paired rubidium magnetometer technique. This report discusses the limitations on profiling accuracy imposed by the intrinsic reproducibility of a rubidium horizontal gradiometer. It then describes a pier- differencing method of traversing which has been used to overcome this insufficiency and which has produced long-spaced station-to-station results of tenth gamma reliability. Nonlinear instrumental drift between the paired sensors is minimized by use of a differential drift correction. Examples show how this correction is computed and applied.
