Education, structure of education and economic efficiency in Yugoslavia
註釋The thesis according to which economic efficiency higly correlates with level of education of the employed, has in Yugoslav conditions proved to be invalid. Although the level of education of the employed is, when compared with developed countries, relatively low, certain differences among autonomous parts - republics - in Yugoslavia (Where a reflection of differences between north and south can be noticed) appear. Contrary to all expectations an interesting phenomenon occurs: the more developed republics in the north have a lower level of education of employed but show a higher economic efficiency (however, the level of education of the population as a whole is higher). These statements can be proved by statistical data. Reasons for such a state are to be found in the socio-political decisions, owing to several anomalies in employment policy and educational strategy as well as in cultural differences and in the past historical development. An analysis of conditions prevealing in this sphere is presented in the paper. A framework for the changed strategy on the field of educational activities in enterprises and particulary for a better exploitation of existing knowledge, is suggested. This seems to be an imperative in the processes of present reformed economy.
