The uranium oxide is mixed with 8 per cent of a carrier consisting of 5 parts of silver chloride and 3 parts of lead fluoride, and 120 mg of the mixture is packed into Scribner-type electrodes. Spectrograms are taken, in a controlled atmosphere of 20 per cent of oxygen and 80 per cent of argon, covering the wavelength region 4500 A to 9300 A, and comparisons made with standards.
