Blessed James Kern
註釋The life of Blessed James Kern (1897-1924), a Catholic priest of the Norbertine (Premonstratensian) Order who was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1998. Wounded in battle during WWI, the young Austrian entered the abbey of Geras where he offered his sufferings in atonement for the public apostasy of a Norbertine priest from the abbey of Strahov in Prague. He died shortly after his longed for ordination to the priesthood, as a result of continued complications from his battle wound. The book is amply illustrated with black and white photos of Blessed James and the abbey of Geras.
