The Muntzings and Their Related Families
註釋The Muntzing (Munzing) family originally of Flein (south of Heilbronn), Germany. Georg Michael Munzing (1786-1862), son of Jacob Heinrich Munzing and Maria Suzanne Vielhauer, was born in Bockingen, Heilbronn, Germany. He was married to Elisabeth Katharina Schiedel (b. ca. 1789, d. 1848) in 1810 at Bockingen. She was of Meimsheim. Georg arrived in the United States in 1850. He had thirteen children, six lived to be adults. Several of his children immigrated to America. First to emigrate was Ernst Munzing (became Muntzing) (1820-1881) between 1839 and 1842. He became a naturalized American citizen at Philadelphia, Pa. in 1853. Another son, Gustav (1833- 1884) (became Muntzing) emigrated between 1850 and 1858. He was married to Mary Hamstead. All his ten children were born in America. Descendants live in West Virginia and elsewhere. Some Munzing family members immigrated to Sweden from Flein, Germany.
