註釋The military message service proposed by ISI's Information Automation project is designed to provide full documentation, help, and error-reporting facilities on-line. The Tutor serves these functions by accessing a documentation (or Help) data base which contains multilevel descriptions for every 'semantic entity' used in the interface between the service and the user. These descriptions are expandable with respect to the amount and type of information presented, as well as with respect to the user's level of proficiency and experience, as indicated by a User Profile. The Tutor also provides a facility for on-line computer-aided instruction. It can be invoked explicitly by the user's request for help, or by the Command Language Processor and User Monitor in response to unrecognized commands, inefficient operation, or error conditions.
