The Political History of Eighteenth-century Scotland
註釋This study takes a fresh look at the assumption that those in the Scottish parliament who voted for the union with England of 1707 sold their country. It is a timely account in light of the present devolution of power from Westminster to Scotland. The actions and motives of Scotland's political leaders and the challenges they faced are explored as they struggled for and finally achieved recognition at the center of power in London for themselves and Scotland.
