註釋In Mozambique's first multi-party elections in October 1994, the forme Mozambique National Resistance rebel movement (Renamo) gained 112 seats in the Assembly. Its leader, Afonso Dhlakama, indicated he was prepared to coopera with the government in the post-election era. In the two years which followed t Rome General Peace Accord of October 1992 Renamo had begun its transformation from a guerilla army to a mainstream poltical party. This book examines the ori of Renamo in the 1977-1992 civil war, the depth of south African influence over tactics and goals, its human rights record during the war and its evolution into political party. It is a revised and updated edition of Alex Vine's earlier acc Mozambican counter-revolution.
