註釋In 1992, the Ontario government and representatives of regions & municipalities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) reached consensus on a vision for the GTA whose essence is to concentrate a significant proportion of growth over the next 30 years in a new structure focussed on a series of higher density, mixed-use nodes and linking corridors. This study examines progress made toward achieving the vision in terms of public policy, infrastructure, and interest from the private sector. The study determines what steps have been taken to amend official plans & the extent to which capital works investment is being used to support policy. In addition, it assesses the consequences of not achieving the vision. Finally, recommendations are made regarding policy, infrastructure, development, monitoring, and communications.
