Entry to Engineering, Technology, and Science in Higher Education
註釋Increased participation in mathematics and science in schools is seen as one means by which more young people can be encouraged to enter science based courses in higher education and in turn contribute to economic and technological growth. This book begins with a brief review of the changes in participation in higher education, particularly in engineering and science, and examines in detail the patterns of participation in mathematics and science in Australian secondary schools over the last decade. This paper also looks at the apparent changes in the mathematics and science background of students entering mostly full time higher education courses in Victoria. It concludes with brief comments on ways to facilitate access to science based courses.
