註釋Description of a trial to determine the field effectiveness of two aerially applied dispersants under Arctic conditions; to determine and test the operating parameters of a multihit dispersant application and document a strategy for applying dispersants under operational conditions so that all or most of the oil in a slick (90-95%) is removed from the surface of the water; to define the logistic and cost requirements to support such a dispersant operation; and to obtain a long-term record of an oil slick at sea in order to determine its fate. The site was an offshore location northeast of Esso's Arnak artificial island in the Beaufort Sea, and the trial was conducted from August 11-17, 1986.
