註釋Early symptoms of orbital disease may bring patients to their ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, neurologist, internist or even dentist. Proper & expeditious diagnosis & management of these conditions is facilitated by an understanding of orbital anatomy & pathology. Prompt recognition of the underlying disease process will often have direct bearing on the overall outcome. Unfortunately, complex anatomic relationships, a paucity of diagnostic signs & symptoms, & a wide array of potential pathologic processes all combine to handicap those who attempt to acquire the expertise necessary to provide capable patient evaluation & care. The goal of this book is to provide a framework for the student & practitioner to construct their own reasoned approach to the diseased orbit by utilizing diagnostic skills in concert with appropriate imaging studies when necessary. It is directed toward sensitizing practitioners to the protean manifestations of orbital disease. The text includes: detailed normal & pathologic anatomy in correlation with plain films, CT, & MRI scans; chapters on specific clinical entities; & therapeutic implications of orbital disease.
