註釋
The Committee of Fifty was formed in 1893 by a group of American businessmen and scholars to investigate problems associated with the use and abuse of alcoholic beverages. Tthe Committee hoped to provide guidance to American citizens through the results of a ten-year long scientific investigation of alcohol in its relation to economics, physiology, law, and ethics. This book is one of the studies conducted by the Committee.
