The Worm in the Apple
註釋

These poems and extended essay were written during the two years after the author was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Many, though not all, deal with the author's treatment and his reaction to it. They are infused with humour, and the author's capacity for ironical detachment from his own condition. They embody his belief that the human condition, though often tragic, is more often ludicrous.
