This is the fourth volume to appear in English of the memoirs of Ivan Maisky, Soviet Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 1932 to 1943. It is mainly concerned with the proceedings of the London Committee for Non-Intervention in Spanish affairs rather than with the detailed history of the war in Spain itself.
