註釋
Diaphysics sets forth a theory that there are physical laws running through the different levels of reality, and which cause new levels of complexity to emerge. These laws are present in atoms, molecules, cells, and brains. They created the universe as we know it: a world that is self-organizing, paradoxical, evolving, emerging, and beautiful. Diaphysics begins with the simplest form of knowledge--mathematics--and ends with speculation on where emergence is taking us or, perhaps, has already taken us. Interdisciplinary in scope, topics as diverse as physics, chemistry, biology, sociology, culture, philosophy, as well as the arts and literature, are shown to have a deep universality in their expression of diaphysical laws.
