In this book, author, Natalia García Pineda, offers a complete catalog of these popular art forms. Ceramic altarpieces today are notable examples of what were once significant witness to important expressions of popular religion in the historical past of Aljarafe. The author limits this study area to a specific geographic region: the Aljarafe and, similarly, also narrows the chronological swath of research between the sixteenth and twentieth centuries. Many of the works described can be located today, in better or worse condition, but as the author of the study reports, the oldest works in this genre are disappearing from their original locations due to lack of attention. In the second part of the book, we are presented a comprehensive catalog of works, ordered with a topographical and where, among other things, information about your location, dimensions, technique used in its manufacture and date of completion are given criterion.
