Twenty small cast Vitallium gas-turbine blades aged at 1500 degrees F for 48 hours, and 33 unaged small cast Vitallium gas-turbine blades were operated at an estimated temperature of 1500 degrees F with a centrifugal stress of 20,000 pounds per square inch at the expected failure zone.
