The area described in this report lies about 50 miles east of Lake Nipigon and the same distance north of Lake Superior. The report describes previous mineral exploration work in the area, and the area's topography, natural resources, general geology (Precambrian volcanics, sediments, intrusives, and their structure and age relations; Pleistocene deposits), structural geology (folding, faulting), historical geology, and economic geology (including description of the types of gold deposits found in the area, and of the iron formation and sand/gravel deposits). The report ends with a section describing the area's gold mines and mining claims, including information on mine geology and ore mineralogy.
