It's kind of an odd thing to do, stick a second introduction into the center of a memoir, stuffing the reader with more of the person my mother Amelia was. But there are some who have read My Two Mothers who were very disappointed at the end of the story to find out that my mother Amelia and Aunt Jennie had passed away. One woman Rita actually said to me, "I wanted to meet them, they sounded like such great women." While I can't give you Amelia and Jennie in the flesh, I can give you some of the recipes handed down to them from their mother, Grandma Petrina, and from my Neapolitan Grandmother Amalia, with a few extra stories that I can share from the family history. These are wonderful recipes that I know you'll want to make for your own family.
