註釋Grandmothers of America is a visual road trip along the backroads and highways of a divided country, highlighting the women who helped build a nation. Photographers Joey Schultz and John Hanson have created an archive of images by taking medium format film portraits of over 250 grandmothers in 49 of the 50 states. They asked each grandmother to give advice to their younger selves and the book is not only rich in the vibrant portraits and landscapes, but in also in the sage and poignant advice each grandmother gives to their former selves and in turn to each of us. It is a powerful documentation of some of our countries matriarchs and an endearing tribute to grandmothers everywhere.
