Electrical Conductivity of Magnetoplasmas
註釋For a magnetoplasma in a strong ac electric field, it is possible to derive an expression for the isotropic part of the electron distribution function that depends upon the polarization and intensity of the ac field. In Part I (AD-660 809), it was shown how the applicability of a constant collision frequency model of wave propagation in magnetoplasmas may be extended to include velocity dependent collisions by introducing an effective collision frequency and an effective plasma frequency. In addition to being functions of signal frequency and the type of power law dependence of the collision frequency on electron velocity, the effective plasma parameters are now also functions of the ellipticity and intensity of the ac field, since these effective parameters depend upon the form of the electron distribution function. Curves are presented of the effective parameters as a function of normalized frequency, normalized field strength and dependence of collision frequency on electron velocity for the case where only pure (unmixed) modes are present in the magnetoplasma.
