註釋The new world – a space adventure Ever since man first stood up and walked his desire to travel and explore has intensified. When it was discovered that the world was round and not flat he built ships to sail across the oceans just to see what he could find. For centuries man has looked up into the night’s sky dreaming about far away galaxies and he built machines to help him peer into outer space. With space distance measured in light years his dream of ever being able to visit those twinkling stars remained just a dream. As the effect of global warming increased during the 21st Century the desire to find another hospitable planet increased. The biggest stumbling block was, ‘how can man fly faster than the speed of light’. A British scientist Dr. Stephen Richards thought that he had the answer.
