註釋Pp. 9-25, "Ha-Shoah - tsomet derakhim" ["The Shoah - a Crossroad"], states that forty years after World War II the world is no longer the same. Existential questions arise such as the "absence" of God, Jewish identity, distrust of political guarantees, etc. States that the Holocaust is proof of the failure of the Diaspora. The abnormal status of the Jews was made clear: always alien, different, and inferior, always scapegoats for historical forces which cannot stand up to a crisis or to ambivalent situations and which erupt in pathological hostility toward Jews. Mentions German historians who blame the Holocaust on the latent violence and blind discipline of the German people who are therefore not morally responsible for it.
