An Oral History Interview with George Jones
註釋George Jones was one of the first African Americans to move to Rapid River, Michigan. George lived in Chicago until moving to Rapid River in 1932. George was able to purchase land for a very cheap price and got a job working in the woods. As a hobby George picked up trapping. George discusses how the Depression impacted Rapid River and what people had to do to survive difficult times. George also discusses different ethnic groups in the area and how he was treated being one of the first African Americans to live in the area. He also briefly discusses the Jim Crow Laws that were instated when he was a small child living in Chicago.
