Provides a detailed description of Newfoundland's geological features and resources for the years 1864 to 1880, this book also includes a brief overview of the surveyor's responsibilities in conducting surveys and of the methods used. Murray republished these surveys as a set, as there was considerable demand for them, and several were now out of print. The surveys contained in this work had been revised and corrected by Murray prior to its publication.
