Fire/EMS Integration: an Anchorage Perspective
註釋In 1995, Anchorage Fire Department changed its emergency medical services (EMS) delivery system from that of a separate independent division to an integrated fire/EMS operations division. This necessitated change to virtually every position within the department. The integration process would continue to evolve and require changes to achieve its most efficient form. The final outcome was unknown. The purpose of this research project was to describe the Anchorage integration process, to identify required changes, and to look toward future needs. The study used a descriptive research methodology. The research questions to be answered were: 1. How did the Anchorage fire/EMS integration evolve? 2. How did other departments deal with this issue? 3. What were the advantages and disadvantages of the process relative to cost containment, patient care and fire suppression capability? 4.
