Re-conceptualizing Command and Control
註釋The authors of this article have found little consensus within either the military or the research community on the actual definitions of three terms well-established in the military: command, control, and command & control (or C2). The article first explores the nature of control as providing the means & context for command. It then discusses the most important requirements for command (creativity and opportunity), offers new definitions for both command and control, notes important implications of these new definitions, and proposes a model of command that incorporates three factors: competency, authority, and responsibility. The model is used to map out the space of command capability as well as to situate individual members within that space.
