Deals with the impact of anti-Jewish legislation and local pogroms (e.g. in Iasi) on Zionist organizations, on Zionist pioneering youth movements, and on Jewish communal organizations; the involvement of Zionist organizations, including the youth movements, in relief and rescue activities on behalf of refugees in Romania, especially from Hungary and from Poland, as well as aid in emigration from Romania; contacts with Jews in occupied countries and involvement in rescue operations related to those areas; and relief and rescue activities for the Jews in the concentration camps and ghettos of Transnistria, and for the recruits who served in the military forced labor units of the Romanian Army.
