註釋The study described in this report was part of a larger project established in 1990, the Sicamous Creek Silvicultural Systems Project (Vyse 1997, 1999). The larger project is intended to address public and professional concerns about the effects of clearcut harvesting on high-elevation forests in the southern interior of British Columbia. The objectives of the study reported here were: to provide weather data for the Sicamous Creek Silvicultural Systems Project; to perform intensive, brief experiments to determine the variation in time and space of weather variables not amenable to long-term monitoring; to obtain measurements of microclimate at various positions across a forest edge and within openings of various sizes; and to validate models of solar irradiance, wind fields, and microclimate across a forest edge and in openings.--Document.
