There are two primary schools of thought concerning the topic of receiving the Holy Ghost. The first is the Oneness Pentecostal variation which believes that the Holy Ghost is received as the third step in becoming born again. They believe the Holy Ghost is received after baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ. The second of the two primary schools of thought on receiving the Holy Ghost is that the Holy Ghost is received at the moment a person repents and accepts Jesus Christ as their personal savior. This second variation believes that baptism is a necessity after accepting Jesus Christ as their personal savior but not a requirement for becoming born again.
