The Chicken Killer
註釋This is the story of a murder, inadvertent and undetected. But Charles Glinnets, a gawking, middle-aged assistant professor, retains the wit to bury the body atop his landlady's newly dug grave. Glinnets' sense of triumph is troubled by uncertainty and the boyhood memory of a Dalmatian dog whose owner collared him with a rotting chicken he had destroyed. Seeking to confess his uncertain conviction, he amuses his colleagues, the McNallys, with his bizarre imagination, but soon Dr. McNally is digging in the grave. Only the landlady's body is uncovered.
