Topology and Dynamics of Midgap Bosonic Excitations
註釋Elementary excitations, such as quasiparticle and collective excitations, can reveal essential information of the associated zero temperature phase of quantum matter. In this thesis, I present our understanding on the topological classification of midgap bosonic quasiparticle excitations in free-boson systems, and on the quench dynamics of midgap Higgs collective excitations in spinfull p-wave fermionic condensations. Unlike the "tenfold way" topological classification of free fermions, the topological classification of free bosons is the "threefold way", and unlike oscillations with power-law decay of the Higgs boson at the edge of 2∆ gap of s-wave superconductors, midgap Higgs bosons in spinfull p-wave fermionic superfluids or superconductors display non-decaying periodic oscillations in time.
