Part one provides the background theory and a framework for developing adult classes. Part two explores the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and labour and part three provides a selection of activities to use in classes. The concluding section describes some of the processes involved in establishing classes and setting up a system for ongoing evaluation. The author is an experienced childbirth educator and her previous publication on the topic is titled 'Teaching Active Birth'.
