A pápai zsidóság története és a hitközség szerepe a város társadalmi életében
註釋Sketches the history of Jews in Hungary from the Middle Ages and Jewish life in Pápa from the 17th century. In April 1848, anti-Jewish sentiment prevented the recruitment of Jews into the National Guard. During the Tiszaeszlár blood-libel, an antisemitic demonstration was broken up by local residents, Jews and non-Jews who joined forces. A significant antisemitic movement began in Pápa in 1918, after the bourgeois revolution; at that time, six local Jews were killed. Pp. 45-56 deal with the Holocaust period - the military labor service units, the ghetto, and the deportations. 97 Jews from Pápa perished in military labor service; their names are listed on pp. 48-50. Of the 3,648 Jews who were deported, only 363 survived.
