Includes ninety-four pages of text with 25 pages of scale diagrams in pencil and ink. Drawings include monthly tables of ship operations, and ship parts. Includes a detailed account on September 22, 1860 about the ship running aground near San Juan, Vancouver, causing severe damage and being assisted to San Francisco for subsequent repairs to the propellor. Also records ports of call and events on board including court martials, plays, weather conditions, encounters with other ships, taking on of coal, and distilling water.
