註釋This is the report of an investigation into alleged conflict of interest by Gordon Campbell, the British Columbia Premier, with respect to his role & influence in dealing with a distant relative, Douglas Walls. The alleged conflict concerns the allocation of contracts to Mr. Walls and/or his company, CareNet Technology Society, as well as the forgiveness of monies owing by Mr. Walls and/or his company to the provincial government. The report sets out the allegation and summarizes an inquiry into the dealings between Mr. Walls and the government, then assesses the evidence for any conflict of interest. Issues discussed include whether Mr. Campbell was using his office to further a private interest; the relationship between Mr. Campbell and Mr. Walls; and the nature of e-mail communications between those two parties. The report concludes with the Commissioner's opinion in the matter.
