Letters by Sir Robert William Edis to the RIBA, 1875-1897
註釋Queries the award of the Soane Medallion to Edwin Nash whose design, he thought, did not merit it; thought the Royal Gold Medal should only be awarded if the vote was unanimous and that it should not be awarded to a foreigner as this was a confession that no Englishman was worthy of the prize; did not think the enquiry by the Metropolitan Board of Works Commission into the conduct of J.E. Saunders and F.H. Fowler had been fairly conducted; was upset that he had not been elected as a vice-president of the RIBA, `in our profession success unfortunately brings many enemies'.
