Abstract: A guide for health professionals involved in the care of handicapped children focuses on normal development patterns and deviations that affect feeding. Assessment of areas affecting feeding covers physical, social and behavioral, nutritional, and reflex aspects. Remediation of feeding problemsinvolves behavior problems, drugs and diet, nutrition, gross and fine motor skills, eating utensils, and oral-motor skills.
