註釋Joao Alvaro Rocha is the clear heir to European minimalism, a successor to the masters of modern Portuguese architecture; this lavishly illustrated volume follows the first ten years of his career and depicts over 30 projects. These include private homes, housing complexes, corporate projects, and public and urban projects.
Rocha's design work is rigorous, almost ascetic in nature: interior and exterior spaces flow into vertical and horizontal planes which intersect to create harmonious linear structures. Rocha's ability to combine modern architectural language with traditional materials, such as wood and visible stone textures, enables him to create buildings which are clearly modern, but speak to the past and their surroundings.
