註釋Restoration of beneficial uses within areas of environmental concern around the Great Lakes is the primary mission of the Remedial Action Plan (RAP) program. The purpose of this document is to identify opportunities to address RAP objectives and recommendations through the use of the municipal planning system, environmental assessment (EA) processes, and programs. Section 1 provides background on the RAP program and identifies RAP actions in which municipalities can be involved. Section 2 provides an overview of the municipal planning system and identifies existing opportunities within the system available to RAP participants to have their goals and recommendations addressed. Section 3 reviews the EA process as it relates to municipalities and RAP issues, and suggests how RAP participants can participate and have their goals and recommendations addressed. Section 4 reviews the voluntary municipal programs and activities and identifies some linkages between municipal programs and the RAP recommendations. Includes glossary. Appendices contain information on key tools/mechanisms under the Planning Act, as well as tables showing the status of official plans and watershed activities within RAP areas of concern.
