註釋
Murder has been a fascinating topic for many people throughout our history. People are always amazed at the terrible and violent acts humans can do to each other. This book is a true accounting of four homicides: the killings of a family, spouse, neighbor's child, and convenience store employees. In two of the cases DNA was used, at a time when the acceptance of this testing in court was not widespread. In fact, the first case, was one of the first in this country in which DNA was used to convict someone of murder and the body was never found. The triple homicide in a Casey's convenience store was the first in this chain's history. The viciousness of the crime and the investigation and amount of evidence are both impressive. The last case involves the killing of a family. The bodies were thrown into a pond after they were killed by drowning. The two teenage murders left the state and were eventually caught in California. All of the information in this book is factual, coming from police and autopsy reports and in some cases, individual recollections. There are 137 photographs which illustrate the crime scenes, the pertinent autopsy findings, and evidence from both the scenes and in the courtroom. The book is written by an expert in his field who has worked with law enforcement and the legal system for twenty years. He illustrates the necessity of teamwork in bringing these cases to he final verdict.
