This translates to different types of approaches to scaling up and out, which have been described in this paper as: push, pull, plant, or probe. Specific strategies for scaling up and out within such approach perspectives, will need to be tailor-made in relation to context specifics. For this, we do not in the first place need standards and guidelines, but individual and collective competences as well as conducive spaces for appropriate strategy development and implementation. We discuss a number of such competences.
