Georges de La Tour
註釋In the space of a century, Georges de La Tour (1593-1652) went from almost anonymity to a reputation comparable to that of the most admired French artists. In a little more than forty paintings of his hand, La Tour takes place at the Pantheon of painting of the seventeenth century. His portraits of saints, peasants and musicians are among the most beautiful but also the most enigmatic in the history of art. Moreover, its marvelous nocturnal scenes, lighted by candlelight make it unquestionably the "Master of the nights".
