The protection of cow and bovine animal and the Law has been a religious and political movement aiming to protect Cow and bovine animal whose slaughter has been broadly opposed by the Hindus while the opposition to slaughter of animals including cows and has extensive and roots in Indian
history. The Supreme Court of India in February 2017 ordered a state
government to stop the illegal slaughter houses and setup enforcement
committees to monitor the treatment of animals use for meat and leather. The court has also ruled that the Indian constitution requires Indian citizens to show compassion to the animal kingdom respect the fundamental rights of animals and asked the states to prevent cruelty to animals.
