Cuaderno en que se explica la Novísima y Singularísima Imagen de la Virgen Santísima del Carmen, 1794
註釋Facsimile reprint and paleographic transcription of the original 1794 manuscript of the allegoric symbols of the painting of the Virgen of Carmen painted by Andrés López in 1791 in what is described as "literally an allegoric map that can be read point-to-point according to the "Quaderno" of friar Francisco de Jesús María who through numbered paragraphs, recommends the spectator, in each case not to distract their gaze of the "mysterious figures" and to attend the indications of its mentor"-- p. 29. The original manuscript due to its political intentions also represents a period vision on a forgotten personage of the Mexican Independence War rescued by historian Jaime Cuadriello through a brief biography: don Mariano Escandón y Llera (b. Querétaro, Mexico 1745-1814), third count of Sierra Gorda, the Catholic authority in charge of suspending the excommunion decree against Miguel Hidalgo y Castilla.
