註釋
"This book is a collection of letters emanating from the Jesuit Holy Cross Mission at Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada, in the mid-1800's. The letters are generally annual reports to the Jesuit General in Rome, and are meant to keep the General informed of the physical and spiritual welfare of the mission. As such, they contain a wealth of detailed information about life on the island in general, and life in Wikwemikong in particular, and therefore are of potential interest to historians. This is the fourth volume of letters regarding the Jesuit Holy Cross Mission at Wikwemikong by this publisher. Three earlier collections of letters pertaining to the missions carried out by French Jesuits in the Great Lakes region during this same period have been published by William Lonc. First, Letters from the New Canada Mission: 1843-1852, in two volumes, transcribed and edited by Alonzo Cadieux, S.J., then co-translated by George Topp, S.J. and William Lonc, S.J Second, Letters from Manitoulin, transcribed and edited by Alonzo Cadieux, S.J., and Robert Toupin, S.J., then co-translated by Shelley Pearen and William Lonc, S.J."--://globalgenealogy.com/countries/canada/ontario/manitoulin/resources/111064.htm
